Managed to put a few more things from this into ITB but also unfortunately added stuff. The work, it never ends.
- The differences between frame type, class and series, and the differences between actual physical and social qualities and culturally constructed ones
Some unpacking of the differences between what I think are software-based qualities and what are hardware/firmware-based (and about the jingle-jangle of those categories in a “living” system)
Something about the social categories and the changes to the social hierarchy before the war (i.e. “robot authoritarianism and where it all came from”)
Aerial infrastructure, air traffic control, and the general how-tos-and-why-fors of building cities for citizens that can fly (mostly Vos and Iacon b/c holy hell there’s a lot of cities on Cybertron I know absolutely nothing about)
Intuition, lieutenant personalities, and why Starscream makes for an excellent SIC
Alt-form founded social identity and the frame type-frame class divide
The political and militaristic structure of Cybertron (with an emphasis on the differences between intelligence, security and law-enforcement w/r/t the Hall of Records and the function of a standing military)
The military-internal structures, ranks and chain of command, and how they're different between conscript-armies like the Autobots and early Decepticons and the proper structured armies.
Combat training and software suites, and personality as a function of the firmware rather than the software
Post, cargo and logistics on Cybertron
Legacy, inheritance, patronage and Cybetronian "parenthood"
Communication standards, transmission encoding and protocol -- and human language analytics
"But why are the robots sexy?" -- aesthetics, sexuality and social bonding
Gaia theory, and the self-similarity between Primus and Cybetronians
Logarithmic aging and the "maturity" of evolving code.
(Building on ITB) The mechanics of sickness from external damage to energon poisoning, or the difference between ToxEn and viral nanites + categories of injury and repair strategies
Frame class cross-relations and why it's easier to go from a flier to a grounder than the other way around
Beastformers, and the limits of reformatting
I've actually got a lot of my headcanon histories for characters written out, they just need to be cleaned up and posted.
