I had a very strange dream about the end of the world, where it wasn't fire and brimstone, it was more just that one day the news got around that [date] would be the last day there are people on Earth and a bunch of celebrities got into the idea of having like a final feast and a gathering of their friends and peers in public for people to join in on.

Meanwhile I was just hanging out with mom and her friend at her apartment, I don't really know why (probably a part of [redacted] which we go to almost every year with my mom) and kinda just went through the day feeling melancholy about the fact that I wouldn't be able to see my friends anymore if the end of the world ended up being true. My mom and her friend clearly didn't think it was true except for the part where my mom changed her last name back to her family's "just in case".

And then in the dream I literally woke up the next day and sure enough there were still people around and my friends were all still on Discord posting blorbo and the news were dunking on whatever Taylor Swift and Blake Lively did during their big final day on Earth that wasn't.

I had a dream where I spent most of it in an evil building crossed between as Witch labyrinth and the town house of the Condescension, watching it eat people who couldn't get their relationship with a second person in working order. A matchmaker tentacle house that also had monsters in it that would eat us unless we fed them fish.

IDK what was up with the fish.

I wish I could remember the details of my dreams better. It was one of those rare fully narrative dreams with sensible goals and things that almost follow in a logical manner, but I have no idea what it was really about other than it was some Metal Gear Spy Shit

I had a dream that I watched the first six episodes of a mecha show that actually had a really interesting infiltration plot and solid character building for the whole cast, and now I'm mad that I'm never gonna find out how it ended because my dream looped back to the first episode with the little-sister-kidnapping incident instead of telling me how they eventually save her or if they save her at all :(

(The show was called Another Spica and apparently it was technically a Street Fighter spinoff)

Too tired to write up a proper dream diary. Stopped a falling elevator while I was inside it, saving me and my ex from getting flattened, and then got caught in a doomsday cult and organized crime because I wanted a fucking kebab.

I had a dream that I was essentially a hall monitor during the apocalypse.

The school I worked in was also a community center of some sort, and it has a class run the security for a week at a time. On my first night (shift starts at 10pm) there was a freak windstorm that somehow got inside people's heads -- a lot of them just milled about or walked in circles on the school yard as they froze to death. I let as many people in as I could, and all pretenses that this was about school fell aside pretty quick after that, and it turned into a straight-up survival scenario where I was one of only a handful of people with feet on the ground.

So I was managing an unwieldy number of people within a building not made to accommodate, telling them to leave off the snack machines and not to skateboard indoors while knowing that if I lost my authority and people realised I didn't know anything either, there would be a mass panic. It was very "arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic" levels of desperate.

Funnily enough not everyone who braved the storm realised it was the end of the world before they got to the school, dazed but intact. I remember being desperate for a solution because all I could do was keep the panic down and try to stop people who were hearing the call of the void from going outside and freezing to death.

My dreams continue to be mini-movies with lots of good ideas but not a lot of perspective-taking

Dreamblogging! I had one of those weirdass video game dreams where I knew it was "fake" but couldn't entirely pick up on it being a dream so my brain just assumed it was a highly immersive video game.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot to mention -- I had two dreams last night, both with the theme "your conditions are gonna fuck your good plans over."

In one, my plans to camp out on a field (with permission from the farmer) during a training reprieve of some kind was screwed over by everyone else deciding to camp on the same field, causing a noise and a mess and causing me to move to a quieter place where I got in trouble for tresspassing, and in one I was trying to fix a TV that had fallen over that at first, I though had only had some wires pulled out of sockets that I could easily solder in place, but which turns out had a crucial part broken which I couldn't easily fabricate, so there was no guarantee it would function after I put it back together.

The first instance was more "I had a good plan that relied on me being the only one using it -- but since everyone is doing it, now, it's not working for any of us" and the second one was more like "I have to fight tooth and nail to prove that I can do this, and me admitting it can't be done is gonna be taken as proof that my skills aren't as good as I believe them to be".

Hmm.

My dreams always do this thing where I see Thing X in dream and in my head go "okay if I do Thing to X, This Happens", and then when I do, something else entirely happens. It's like the dream's way of reminding me "analysis doesn't work here, only intuition does."

Also half of my dream was dedicated to a bit where I held a surprise party for my sister and there were two people at the party who both very obviously having a thing for me and I was really happy about it for some entirely out-of-character reason. Motherfucker I don't even like it when one person catches feelings for me.

The other half was some strange video game that was like a cross between Transformers Devastation, Xenoblade x and World of Warcraft, but shot like a video game anime and I was... the player character? The person playing the game? I was dragged into a flower shop with another player and then her character glitched out and glitched the sprinklers at the shop and then her playing partner said it was my fault and I needed to go raiding with them to fix it. The bit with the Thing X That Works Different was a bit later -- there was a tablet thing that, if you attack it the right way, summons enemies to fight in a small arena, but this one teleported me (and me alone) to a separate stage entirely.

There was also a bit where apparently the party (and the days before it) were a story written by a character in the game I later played, which is how I knew what I needed to do at some of the super unintuitive Impossible Moments, like waking up to finding two bear cubs in the house, and knowing what to do to restrain them without hurting them.

And there was also a visual pun where "naked" tiles in a sidescroller (tiles that didn't have any floor or walls) had parts of a photo of a naked woman on them.

Oh and the dream ended with me back in the game, skipping out on my "character's" funeral to some other people into going dungeon diving with me, and walking through a weirdly familiar city that was full of funeral flowers, because apparently my previous player character was someone important.

And if all of this is disjointed it's b/c I woke up twice during the night, and can't remember what order the things in th dream actually happened. The party sits awkwardly between two chunks of the video game thing.
