I still haven't finished it, and that bothers me.

The plot and the characters are quite compelling but the gameplay is a) very hard for my shit-for-brains reflexes and b) throwing bosses at me for what feels like gameplay for gameplay's sake, so I feel like I'm never gonna ge to the conclusion of the story, which is the part I care about.

Today, I'll try to make a little headway in the game, but this game really was meant to be played through in as few sittings as possible b/c coming back to it always feels like I need to relearn the game all over again... which is bad, because I can't be less than 90% into it, and the difficulty matches that.

So when I eventually analyse this game, I'm gonna look at story and gameplay separately, probably, because the story is very interesting and the gameplay is very fun, but they're both so distantly connected IDK what I'd have to say about them that would gel.

It's kind of a shame. For a game with this much interesting things to say, it sucks that I might not be able to finish it simply b/c it couldn't hold my interest mechanically.

I actually ragequit for story reasons. Looking forward to seeing what you think when you finish.

I just looked at a walkthrough, and it doesn’t look like there IS much after City One.

I got stuck in the cell in the Tower, so I looked up spoilers to see whether it was worth playing any longer when the puzzles kept being annoying. I saw how Royal dies, and I said “fuck this” and never went back.
