I don't want to go to aikido today, because anger and allergies are too tiring and I'd just be snippy and annoyed and short-tempered and that's not conductive to training.
You're in a different area than I am, of course, but in all the dojos I know about testing is more of a celebration than anything else? Like, sure, it's formal, but generally you don't test unless everyone knows you're gonna succeed, so... it's just a formalized demonstration.
And beginner tests especially just expect you to show basic knowledge of vocabulary and movement. :)
Yeah that sounds about right x'D my teacher was very casual about it, "you've got a month to practice before and you're already doing fine".
And, yeah, I already have memorised and can do the 6th and 5th kyu stuff, it's not the memorisation I'm worried about as much as it is wondering if I can get my movements to stop feeling jerky and awkward in just a month =w=)
Aw, you probably look less jerky and awkward than you think, and also nobody will really mind you being jerky and awkward for 6th/5th kyu anyway. :) But yeah, I get why you'd want to stop feeling that way, even if it isn't actually a problem right now. You'll get there. It's just about time.
