Actually while I’m here, in the spirit of the two posts I’ve made about further exploring the Ouroboros bond, I would have loved to see more exploration of the relationships between the heroes and not just their class inheritor Ouroboros, but their opposite-kingdom counterparts also. I think all the hero questlines could have really used a third sidequest, maybe one between the recruitment and ascension ones, or maybe a post-ascension one, that deals with the influence flowing backwards from this new relationship that changes the Ouroboros participant, both for better and for worse, and how that influence goes on further to inform the Ouroboros bond.

I think it would really enhance the specialness of the Ouroboros bond if some of the character drama between the pairs was diffused into being essentially handled by proxy through the Heroes -- Mio’s obstinance over getting her way being bolstered by Teach making “being very deliberate in everything he does” a part of his character but balanced out by her interactions with Zeon, who is paralyzed by the awareness of his own power, Sena having to confront her own passivity through interacting with someone like Fiona, who has many of the same issues, pretty much all of Eunie’s and Taion’s Hero relationships would be very interesting to examine, Taion getting on far better with Gray and far worse with Ashera is fascinating on its own, like

In general, everyone gets along a little too smooth for my tastes. If there was a little more bickering, not necessarily between the Heroes and their counterparts, but also the Heroes and their counterpart’s partners, just... something more, it would have made the Ouroboros feel less incidental in the arcs of some Heroes, and it would have really brought out some of the richness in the potential of the whole magical soulmates situation.
