The only silver lining to the Cats movie coming out is that it got me to watch a professionally filmed version for the first time in years.
(It has distinctly better set design and costuming to the version I remember growing up with -- which is wild, b/c that one was a pretty high budget one for Finnish musical theater -- and it definitely improves the experience. Unfortunately that just makes me more mad that the movie version looks so hideous b/c. If you're gonna do "Cats", why would you not make it the most visually opulent thing you've ever seen???)
