I rewatched the Lindsay Ellis Hobbit duology and now I'm just sad we didn't get the movies about community the New Zealanders felt like they were making, because. Like, I went and saw The Unexpected Journey in the movies three whole times, two of those entirely by myself, because I just really, really enjoyed it and thought it had amazing potential.

And so, clearly, did the cast -- for a while. It sounds like they definitely knew what parts of the story would resonate with audiences... at least, audiences like me :(
