I mean, maybe for Anglophones. I studied literature in Finnish, it wasn't until we got to Enlightenment and literature beyond it that we started looking at translated works from other frames of thought. Translation invariably changes the nature of a text.

I sometimes feel like it might do the world good if they'd also read "Seitsemän veljestä" and "Tuntematon sotilas". Maybe we'd be in little less of a crush to elevate the English canon if texts from minority languages where platformed and analysed more.
