Hmmm, you're right. The only real times we discussed translation studies/the art of translation in my English (ie literature) classes was when we read classical texts like Beowulf or the Bible.
As somebody who has read a fair amount of Spanish/Latin American literature in both Spanish and translated English, I agree that it would be great for just everybody in general to platform texts from other languages. With Spanish in particular, there's the entire genre of magical realism which is native to it, not to mention all the important political thought that began with latinx writers.
