LEP 28.8.

Woke up this morning thinking about how funny it is that gender criticals apparently complain about Steph Sterling having a "biological advantage" in her career as a pro wrestler.

Pro wrestler.

Are women just... worse at athletics as a whole now? Acting?? Pretending to get hit in the face?

.... actually no, that last point has to be it, isn't it. It's unwomanly to want to pretend to do cartoonish physical violence at people but if some poor insane girls want to do it, they shouldn't be doing it with ~men~ who are probably there because they get off on it or something. Never fucking mind that as a trans wrestler, Sterling was competing against men just a while back where she was very firmly a comedy jobber and a big body and, y'know, continues to be that.

I comprehend it. I understand the logic. But I also legitimately do not get how terfs don't realise how utterly antifeminist it is to look at someone like her going "I am a heel who gets on peoples nerves on purpose so the handsome athletic babyface girlies can come and kick my ass, and it feels super cathartic! :D" Like, there's no way her face stint is gonna last. Sterling is, and I say this lovingly, a troll. How are they this bad at engaging with media?

Willful ignorance in service of their agenda. The facts don't matter, TERFs will bend any situation to make it conform to their anti-trans beliefs because they're THAT deep into their hatred.

I've also seen them claim that women are "biologically disadvantaged" at skateboarding, chess, and (sit down for it) beauty contests. One really gets the impression that TERFs just think cis women are pathetic and trans women are the pinnacles of humanity or something.

Pretty much. The TERF idea of womanhood, as it turns out, is not so different from a highly conservative, patriarchal definition of womanhood. Funny that.
