So my Xenoblade 3 longfic is going *derogatory* well all things considered, so I'm taking a brain rest day to think about my other favourite thing to do with Xenoblade other than whump -- roleswaps. I really wanna do an Isurd-Nimue roleswap, y'all. Like, primarily because it would give me an opportunity to really dig into Nimue as a character and do something interesting with the implications of her deciding joining an endless war is a perfectly reasonable concession for having freedom, and would also let me play more with her relationship to Taion, either as his mentor or his commander after Isurd's death.

The big thing that is tripping me up about it is that IDK if doing a full backstory swap for the two of them would be more interesting than having Nimue still be from Lost Colony, and simply have been the next in line to become commander after Isurd's death, letting his death reverberate down through that whole questline in interesting ways, all for the small small prize of "no baby Isurd in Taion's sidestory :("
