Thursday, 13 April 2023 12:20The more I think about Noah's Sword of Plot Convenience the more I feel like that the ability to break Flame Clocks should have been a thing that only happened in the second half of the plot, after Keves Castle or possibly even after Agnus Castle. The colonies having to struggle with keeping their Flame Clocks filled in the absence of the ability to just go knock another colony over would have been interesting, and they could have stuck around as an actual mechanic for far longer. It also would have been a significant moment of growth for Noah to suddenly be able to exert his will over the world that way, first building up the power of the Ouroboros as something that can... IDK, maybe detach Flame Clocks from the Castles so that the people in them are no longer bound to the Moebius BUT are still under the risk of just burning out.
Or, at least have a mechanic that makes the actual wellbeing of the colony a lot clearer, as it is right now it's just implied that everyone is kind of having bad time now when the Castle won't help them out anymore, but the necessity and importance of alliances and working together is minimised because we never see the consequences of that isolation.
