Holy shit holy shit holy shit

So, y'all know how I've been bitching for years that one of the reasons I couldn't do freelance animation that well and have almost nothing to show for myself is b/c my software is really old and I couldn't find a newer version of AfterEffects to replace it?

I, uh

may have found a solution, courtesy of HumbleBundle. The "Filmmakers" bundle had HitFilm Pro, Action Pro and Ignite Pro in the same bundle, allowing me to possibly kick Adobe out of my software docket entirely.

(To be clear, I haven't tried it yet, but my AE is literally from over ten years ago at this point, cannot run in a 64x space and even while I have a way more powerful graphics card now to address my lack of 3D capability, none of my current softwares offer that option natively, and I didn't want to start learning Blender just to make motion graphics.

Ideally, I would still like to use AE CS6 because... well, it's the software I "grew up" on. But I also hate what Adobe is doing, and if I pirated it, I wouldn't be able to use it professionally so I've been looking for a used copy, which pop up every now and again.

If HitFilm does cover all my AE-bases, I can just keep using the old Photoshop and Illustrator I have and that's all I need to be right back in business as a freelancer.

Y'all. I haven't been this professionally excited in literally years.)

Giddy from my animation tools getting an upgrade soon, I went to look at some of my old animation and I'm actually surprised at how much I like them despite seeing where my obvious lack of skill shows through.

Conceptually, all but one of the Division animations is legit pretty interesting. Hell, the Curator one outright feels like it's too good for have been made by me, needing just a little bit of retiming. The Reclaimer one suffers from me being A Garbage Artist(tm) who can't draw to save a life, but actually? I know how I can fix it, even before upgrading my tools.
