Body awareness is the bane of my existence
Monday, 2 September 2019 13:59Honestly, I maybe should have realised that I have hypermobile joints like ten years ago because for someone who spends most of my time sitting down, writing and doing other non-physical activities
I am ridiculously limber??
Seriously, I regularly see "beginner level" stretching guides and I need to immediately skip to the advanced stretches and even they usually do pretty much nothing. My worst muscles are my adductors, but those are needed for leg-lifts (and high kicks and... well, kicking good, anyway) so they've actually gotten quite a lot of excercise compared to the rest of my legs.
It's legitimately discouraging to realise that a lot of my general oikyness is down to bad joints rather than any results of training, but at the same time that training has given me a fairly good understanding of what feels good to do with disaster of a body.
