It's exactly that, and I've seen enough people who are loudly "against perverts and freaks" do it that I also know these people will treat any actual dom who approaches them like shit if they aren't just doing it for the meme.

It's very tiring, like, I'm just tired of being kinky and that being a punchline. People do not think about the words that leave their mouth, they're shuttered to imagining the world is just like they are and anyone who isn't is a freak pervert a dangerous predator.
