So two weeks back I took my bike to the shop for regular maintenance b/c I knew I would be cycling to work for the next month or so and the work is too far away to walk without seriously exhausting myself ahead of time for a job where I have to stand for eight-ish hours and lift heavy boxes full of bolts and screws and piping.

And at the bike shop they were like. Eh, the pedals are probably giving, bring it back when one of them pops off, we'll have replacements by then

And I was like are you sure b/c the axle hub is rattling the way it was when it broke the last time

And they were like nah, it's fine

And today, 30min before my shift, just as I'd set off to work -- the hub seized, and jammed up.

I had to take a taxi to work. Thank fuck my coworkers are all very nice people and I got a lift home, and before I ran off one of my coworkers agreed to let me hitch a ride to work tomorrow. I'll probably buy him snacks and pay for gas to try to get a ride for the rest of the week.

And also apparently I'm gonna need a new goddamn bike.

OH AND THIS IS BEFORE I GOT LOST TWICE TODAY B/C THE ROLLING MILL IS TOO HUGE AND I HAVE THE DIRECTIONAL SENSE OF AN EYELESS COCKROACH
