And, tbh, I feel this even more because I'm a meta writer. Like, what I do is worldbuilding -- making sense of the "rules" and creating frame works, which are utterly useless unless someone uses them for something.

I like doing what I do, but what I do is creatively and narratively sterile. Functional, yes, and often beautiful (if I do say so myself, lol) but still empty until someone takes them and uses them to build a narrative.
